Lockren
Ron

Raised in Missouri, Ron began learning guitar from his bluegrass picking relatives in the family music store, when he was eight years old. It wasn't long before he began playing in local establishments with musicans twice his age. Ron began his journey as a career musician playing six nights a week on a circuit that spanned the mid-west. Traveling from New Mexico to Wisconsin, and North Dakota to Southern Missouri, Ron spent his formative years learning the entertainment business from other performers, and from an entertainment agent who took him under his wing. All this would eventually lead Ron to Jacksonville, Florida where he would accept an extended engagement with "Scooter Lee," who received recognition for her recording of (Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms).

After years on the road Ron felt he had acquired the skills to take the next step in the entertainment world and after several auditions he gained national act experience with "Jewel Akins," (The Birds and the Bees), and more recently, "The Jimmie VanZant Band," (Southern Comfort, and the self titled first album, "The Jimmie VanZant Band," which featured Ron as one of the guitarists). Ron has shared the stage with more acts than can be listed here, but to name a few; 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Foghat to Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker, will give you the sense of diversity that has been the flagship quality of Ron's career.

Now, calling Iowa home, Ron has also found a home with the Band "Lockren." "Their diverse country repertoire and rocking, high energy delivery seem the perfect fit." "This kind of brings things full circle when I think about it; I mean I'm finally playing in a band with musicians half MY age, and still loving every minute of it."
