An Indiana native, Chrisą formal education began at the age of 13, and evolved through the public school system concluding with a B.A. in Percussion Performance from Indiana State University- completing studies with Dr. Jimmy Finnie. Additional private studies were undertaken with Chicago based Ruben Alvarez, Jim Chapin, Ndugu Chancler (Santana/Michael Jackson/George Duke), and UNT instructor Frank Neimec.
Other performance background includes contracted tenure with the Terre Haute Symphony, The Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and private teaching, with extensive drumline instruction and composition credits throughout central
and southern Indiana.
Currently Chris is the Percussion Merchandise Manager for West Music Company, a chain of full line music stores and internet retailers, and performs regularly around the Midwest as a freelance drumset artist.
Chris enjoys sleeping, a cold beer when necessary, and the occasional thank
you and song writing credit on recording session liner notes.
