4/28/08 - Fans and Friends of The Band LOCKREN

It’s time for Prom!

Please join us Saturday night May 10th from 9:00pm to 1:00am at Scooter’s Bar & Grill in Anamosa for “Prom Night”. That’s right the kids have had their prom and now it’s our turn. We want to turn back time and take you back to the days of high school even if it’s only for one evening. Scooter’s is asking for everyone to come dressed in your Tux and Gown for an evening of Dancing, Food, Fun, and Music. At Midnight join the Grand March and yes we are going to vote for a King and Queen. Scooter’s will have prizes for the King and Queen along with great drink specials all night long. This promises to be a great night so make your plans to join us now. This is a 21 and over show and best of all there is NO Cover Charge. We look forward to seeing everyone May 10th.

3/15/08 - Fans and Friends of The Band LOCKREN - MAJOR Concert ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

We are very excited to be a part of the 2008 Butler County Fair in Allison, IA. Please mark your calendar for Thursday Night June 26th and join us in welcoming to the Butler County Fair main stage, Nashville Recording Artist, Craig Morgan. Craig Morgan is best known for his smash hits “Almost Home, That’s What I Love About Sunday, Redneck Yacht Club, Tough, Little Bit Of Life, and his latest top 10 hit International Harvester” It is guaranteed that Craig will keep you on the edge of your seat all night long.

We will kick your evening off at 7:00pm on the Main Stage and then at 8:00 Craig Morgan will take the stage for what promises to be a night to remember. Ticket information for this event will be available very soon.

3/15/08 - Major Concert Announcement / Delaware County Fair

We are very excited to announce yet another Major Concert. Please mark your calendar for Thursday night July 10th and join us as we open for and Welcome to the Delaware County Fair Main Stage Nashville Recording Artist Rodney Atkins.

Rodney Atkins has become very well known over the last year with his string of 4 consecutive number 1 hits "If Your going Through Hell", "Watching You", "These Are My People", and his current number 1 smash hit “Cleaning This Gun”.

We will take the Main Stage from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and then at 8:30 Rodney Atkins will take the stage and give you a performance you will not forget. Then to round out your night please join us immediately following the Rodney Atkins show in the Beer Garden for more of your Top 40 Country and Classic Rock Hits until 1:00am.

We are looking forward to July 10th and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

2/23/08 - Fans and Friends of LOCKREN - MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

We are very excited to be a part of the 2008 Bremer County Fair in Waverly, IA. Please mark your calendar for Tuesday Night July 29th and join us in welcoming to the Bremer County Fair main stage, Nashville Recording Artist, Jason Michael Carroll. Jason is best known for his smash hits “Alyssa Lies” and “Livin’ Our Love Song”, but he will keep you on the edge of your seat all night long with other songs such as “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead”, “Anywhere USA”, and “Honky Tonk Friends”.

We will kick your evening off at 7:00pm on the Main Stage and then at 8:00 Jason Michael Carroll will take the stage for what promises to be a night to remember. Then immediately following Jason Michael Carroll on the main stage we will finish your evening in the Beer Garden until Midnight.

11/15/07 - Amanda Sings with Linda Davis

Wednesday November 14th, Linda Davis played a concert at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. For those who may not recognize the name Linda Davis. In 1993 Linda worked with Reba McEntire on a duet called “Does He Love You”. The song went straight to number 1 on the country music radio charts, earned them a Grammy award for Best Country Vocal Collaboration as well as the CMA Award for "Vocal Event of the Year". CMT recently ranked the song at No. 9 on their list of 100 Greatest Duets.

Linda had been told about Amanda and last night Linda called Amanda on stage to sing the Duet with her. After the show Linda told Amanda that she is doing a concert in Nashville in March the same week Amanda will be in Nashville and Linda would like for Amanda to come to the concert. Linda also talked to Amanda some about Amanda’s future plans for a studio session in Nashville.

Next week Linda is leaving for a month to go on the road with Kenny Rogers for their Christmas concert tour. We wish Linda all the best and can not wait for March and the chance to go see Linda again.

If you ever get the chance to go see Linda perform please do yourself a favor and go see her. She is truly one of the most talented and nicest people you will ever have the chance to meet.

The Band Lockren

There is no doubt that female country is one of the fastest growing areas of the music industry and the band "Lockren" is here to bring it to you. We are one of only a hand full of bands in the Midwest that features a female lead singer. This allows us to do something completely different in the live music industry. The band "Lockren" was started during the summer of 2005 and is made up of a great mixture of youth and experience.

Our first experienced member is Jon Purdy on Guitar. Jon is a veteran of over 30 years of playing experience around the U.S. and abroad before returning home to Cedar Falls. On Bass we have Jim Lee. Jim is a veteran with over 30 years of live music experience around the US and now resides in Evansdale. And on Drums from Cedar Rapids we have Michael Jensen. Michael is also a veteran on the music scene. He has been playing drums for over 30 years, on the road and around the Eastern Iowa. Our final member, and bringing the youth and enthusiasm to the band, is a 21 year old from Coggon, Amanda Loughren. Amanda started her singing career at the ripe old age of 13 at her school variety show and has been singing ever since. Amanda has earned the respect of her piers with her vocal ability that is second to none. Amanda's vocals, combined with the harmonies, make this band something special and an experience you will not soon forget.

The band Lockren is primarily a top 40 country band with music from artists such as Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain, Sugarland, Trick Pony, Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley, and Johnny Cash to name a few. But we do not stop there. We have something for just about everyone with classic rock favorites from artists like AC/DC, Joan Jett, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, and ZZ Top among others.

Since our beginning in 2005 we have been fortunate to gain a lot of new fans/friends and we are all very excited about our future. So make your plans to come join the "Lockren" experience soon, and we hope to see you at a gig in the very near future. The Band "Lockren"
